The Case

The 42.2mm jumbo case style with a fun military-inspired look. Made entirely of 18k white gold, the famous octagonal porthole-inspired case has beautiful alternating brushed and polished surfaces. The bezel itself is flat and vertically brushed, and the bezel flank is polished. The finishing on the bezel flank is stunning because it looks rounded at a glance, but you can see defined edges playing with the light when you look close. The lugs are short and curved with large polished bevels and have a distinctly sporty look.

The Dial

Unlike the blue model with its gradient dial, this khaki green dial is uniform and has no colour variations. Coupled with the matte texture, the dial comes across as totally flat and is consequently liberated of reflections. The white gold Arabic numerals are applied to the dial and filled in with lume as are the markers above the numerals and the thick baton-shaped hands. The luminescence of the Aquanaut is powerful and long-lasting. Offering central hour, minutes and sweep seconds, the date window of the 5168G replaces the number ‘3’ and has a white background.

Replica Patek Philippe Aquanaut, launched in 1997, was developed by Patek’s then-president Philippe Stern as a slightly more accessible version of Patek’s more famous luxury-sport watch. The Aquanaut’s slightly rounded octagonal bezel, with vertically satin-finished flats and chamfered, polished edges, offered an aesthetic nod to that of the Nautilus, but its bold Arabic numerals and embossed checkerboard pattern on the dials and strap, gave it a sporty identity of its own.
