The "Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch - Alaska Project": In the early 1970's NASA was considering exploring the dark side of the moon. Omega created a team to develop an outer case for their Speedmaster watch to withstand the extreme temperatures of outer space. Omega named the project the "Alaska Project". NASA however declared the watch in its original design would suffice, thus the results remained a prototype.
