The Case

44.25mm black ceramic case with polished finished beveled edges. Polished black ceramic crown with the omega logo engraved. Polished black ceramic chronograph buttons. Ceramic Matte black bezel with a black lacquered tachymetric scale / tachymeter. Case back engraved with "DARK SIDE OF THE MOON - Si 14 - ZrO2".

The Dial

Black ceramic main dial & sub-dials. Sub-dials at 3 & 9 o'clock are surrounded with raised black rims with very fine laser engraved indexes. Applied blackened hour markers with black luminous fill. Small continuous running seconds hand sub-dial located at the 9 o'clock position. Date window is black on black and displayed at the 6 o'clock position.

Replica Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon, fifty years ago, Apollo 8 became the first manned spacecraft to orbit the Moon and the three astronauts on board the first men to witness the far, or dark side, of our celestial neighbour. To celebrate this encounter, in 2013 Omega dedicated an entire collection of black-themed Speedmasters known as the Dark Side of the Moon. Designed to highlight the unseen side of the Moon, all the 44.25mm cases of this collection are crafted in high-tech black ceramic.
